A single Yellow Fever vaccination provides lifelong protection and after vaccination we will provide the internationally recognised certificate required for entry into certain countries. Please note that certificates may not be accepted if used less than 10 days after vaccination. If it is deemed inappropriate for you to receive the vaccine and you are still visiting a Yellow Fever risk area, we will consider providing an exemption letter for border control. If your certificate has been lost and you do not require re-vaccination, we may be able to re-issue it if sufficient evidence is provided, such as a GP vaccination record including the batch number.
Malaria is a serious and potentially life-threatening disease transmitted through the bites of infected mosquitoes. It is present in many popular travel destinations including parts of Africa, Asia, Central America, and the Middle East. There is currently no vaccination against malaria, so antimalarial medication is essential for travellers visiting high-risk areas.

Travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah involves specific health requirements. Saudi authorities require proof of Meningitis ACWY vaccination for all pilgrims, and additional vaccinations including Hepatitis A and Typhoid are strongly recommended. Each travel clinic appointment lasts 45 minutes. During this time we will carry out a medical screening, ask for details of your trip, and document your vaccination history. We recommend booking your travel clinic appointment at least 4 to 6 weeks before your departure date. Some vaccines require multiple doses spread over several weeks, such as Rabies (3 doses over 21 days) and Japanese Encephalitis (2 doses over 28 days), so booking early ensures you have time to complete your full course before you travel. If you are travelling sooner, please contact us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.
No. You do not need a GP referral to book a travel clinic appointment at C&H Barton Pharmacy. You can book directly through our website or by contacting the pharmacy. Our pharmacists are fully trained and accredited to carry out travel health consultations and administer vaccinations.
Please bring a list of your current medications, details of any allergies, your existing vaccination record if you have one, and full details of your travel itinerary including destinations, duration of stay, and planned activities such as hiking or working with animals. Yes, we offer travel vaccinations for children as well as adults. Junior doses are available for a number of vaccines including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tick-Borne Encephalitis.
